We all need a supportive community and love in order to grow and thrive, but many of our neighbors experiencing homelessness and economic insecurity do not have healthy communities to rely on. Many have experienced trauma and disconnection from society. With your support, RVA Light offers a welcoming environment where our neighbors can access vital resources not elsewhere available in the city, like public phones, assistance using computers and electronic devices, and charging stations. Still, more importantly, they find friends who know their names, care about their well-being, and encourage them to find resources for increased stability and independence such as searching for jobs through our own Jobs for Life work readiness course. Here at RVA Light, they also have an opportunity to connect spiritually through Bible studies and discussions. Our mission is to build connections, not only to vital resources to meet physical needs, but the human and spiritual connections we all need to thrive.
